Independent Chair

EMD UK is seeking an independent Chair to lead its board.  This exciting, non-executive position will oversee the strategic direction and growth of one of the countries most popular governing bodies. Group exercise has few barriers to participation and, therefore, creates vast opportunities for individuals to fulfil their physical activity, health and well-being goals. As a result, group exercise has the potential to be the nation’s number one sporting / physical activity – can you help EMD UK take the steps to get it there?

Academy Manager

EMD UK is looking for a dedicated and driven professional to join our energetic instructor development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team in a training capacity in the fitness industry and as a group exercise instructor or participant coupled with excellent customer care and communication skills. Experience of achieving challenging sales targets and being solutions orientated is essential. Demonstrating exceptional ‘people’ skills, you will be a team player and ideally have a sound knowledge of the fitness industry and the needs of instructors.

Salary: £23,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

Tutor roles

Freelance Level 2 Group Training Tutor

Responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 2 Group Training qualification. Requires the applicant to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become a group trainer.

Freelance Level 2 Gym Instructing Tutor

Responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 2 Fitness Instructor (Gym) qualification. Requires the applicant to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become a gym-based fitness instructor.

Freelance Level 3 Personal Training Tutor

Responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 3 Personal Training qualification. Requires the applicant to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become a personal trainer.

Freelance Level 3 Pilates Tutor

Responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 3 Pilates qualification. Requires the applicant to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become a Pilates teacher.

Freelance Level 2 Aqua Tutor

Responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 2 Water Fitness (aqua) qualification. Requires the applicant to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become an aqua instructor.

Assessor roles

Freelance Level 2 Group Training Assessor

As an Independent Assessor, you will be required to create a relaxed and welcoming environment to ensure students feel at ease during their practical assessment. You will be responsible for making an informed decision in qualifying students against the assessment criteria in their fitness instructing practical assessment. You will also be required to provide constructive and progressive feedback to the student on practical delivery methods. You will have the opportunity to assess the Level 2 Group Fitness qualification

Freelance Level 2 Gym Instructing Assessor

As an Independent Assessor, you will be required to create a relaxed and welcoming environment to ensure students feel at ease during their practical assessment. You will be responsible for making an informed decision in qualifying students against the assessment criteria in their fitness instructing practical assessment. Freelance Level 3 Personal Training Assessor
