Remaining in good health physically, mentally, and emotionally is what defines well-being and happiness for us all, at any age – including later life. At EMD UK, we understand that health is wealth – especially as you get older.
Today, people are living longer than ever before, and that’s a great thing indeed. According to Age UK, there are currently 15.3 million people in the UK aged 60 and above – a figure set to pass the 20 million mark by 2030. However, it’s important to understand that our health and wellbeing needs to change as we get older. If we wish to maintain our health and longevity and reduce the risks of physical and mental disability, it’s vital that we are proactive in our efforts to keep ourselves fit, active, and socially engaged, so we can enjoy the very best of what life has to offer after retirement.
We like to place focus on four key areas:
Making Friends and Staying Connected
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Active aging has been one of our key driving principles since we first formed in 2006, when our founding organisations – The Medau Society, FLexercise, and the Keep Fit Association (KFA) – joined forces to form an umbrella body for exercise, movement and dance. Our founder organisations are some of the most established experts in group exercise offering a range of exercises suitable for all ages, particularly older adults looking for a challenging yet safe and fun exercise experience.
