The Community Blueprint: Building a Women’s Health Infrastructure through Trust and Movement
Traditional health systems often stop at the clinic door. For many women in ethnic minority communities, true health begins in the community hall, the local centre, and the dance studio. Join Shamime Jan, founder of BollyFit Active, for a session for instructors who want to understand the science of community trust.

Traditional health systems often stop at the clinic door. For many women in ethnic minority communities, true health begins in the community hall, the local centre, and the dance studio.
Join Shamime Jan, founder of BollyFit Active, for a session that redefines the role of the group exercise instructor. Drawing on 30 years of experience, Shamime has moved beyond simply “delivering sets and reps” to building a culturally responsive preventative health infrastructure. She doesn’t just teach movement; she creates a “place of belonging” that tackles pre-diabetes, social isolation, and low confidence head-on.
This webinar is for instructors who want to understand the science of community trust. Shamime will share her “Sustainable Cycle of Impact”—a model that transforms participants into leaders and classes into life-saving health hubs. Whether you work in a diverse urban borough or are looking to reach underserved groups in your area, you will learn how to bridge the gap between fitness and clinical health, making your sessions an essential part of the local healthcare landscape.
This webinar is accredited for 1hr of informal Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify the “Infrastructure Gap”: Understand why traditional fitness marketing often fails to reach underserved women and how to reposition your class as a “trusted safe space”.
- Design for Cultural Responsiveness: Learn how to use “culturally relevant prevention”—including music, language, and movement—to break down barriers to participation.
- Map the “Preventative Model”: Recognise how group exercise can specifically address clinical risks like pre-diabetes and social isolation within minoritised communities.
- Build Leadership Pathways: Implement a “distributed model” where you identify and mentor participants to become community influencers or future coaches.
- Bridge to Health Partners: Gain strategies for collaborating with GP practices, PCNs, and researchers to prove the clinical value of your community-led work.
