We are the national governing body for group exercise. Our vision ishealthier communities through group exercise’ and our mission is ‘to support group exercise instructors to be the best they can be.’

We are an insight driven organisation that operates the largest database of group exercise classes in the UK to connect participants with thousands of instructors offering classes in their local area. To facilitate the continued growth of the sector we provide quality training and development as well as ongoing help and advice to instructors, supporting them at every stage of their career. We also work in partnership with organisations to endorse and develop all forms and styles of group exercise, including start up support for new fitness brands and concepts trying to enter the market. We work proactively to bring all aspects of the industry together.

This Girl Can Classes Master Trainer

EMD UK wishes to recruit Master Trainers who will be responsible for tutoring the This Girl Can Classes instructor training.

We are looking for experienced instructors and tutors to come on board as our TGC Classes Master Trainers for this exciting new concept, upskilling instructors to deliver TGC Classes and support more women to discover the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.

Successful applicants will be expected to complete some online learning and learn choreography provided before their practical training day.

What are TGC Classes?

EMD UK, the national governing body for group exercise, has partnered with This Girl Can to create an exclusive fitness class for less active women.

The class is an entry level group exercise class to support inactive women to access fun, friendly and local classes to build skills, fitness levels and overall confidence to progress into other group exercise classes available.

Classes offer participants a variety of group exercise styles in a friendly, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where it does not matter if you get the moves wrong – it is all about having fun!

The class concept is based on blocks of content and structured with a first half, second half and interval in between. TGC Classes include the following different styles:

  • Dance Fitness
  • Box Fitness
  • Yoga inspired stretch
  • Tone
  • Move (Variable Intensity Interval Training)

Workforce roles

Course Tutors – GTM (Group Training to Music) and DFQ (Dance Fitness Qualification)

EMD UK wishes to recruit Level 2 Trainers who will be responsible for supporting and training student fitness instructors working towards completing their Level 2 qualification.  Able to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become group exercise instructors,  you will also have the opportunity to deliver a variety of courses such as Dance Fitness and Group Training to Music.

Fitness Instructors – virtual roles

One of our course graduates, Rho, who founded Rock it with Rho Ltd, set up an Instagram Members Squad to keep her class participants –  known as the Rockets – physically and mentally active during the lockdowns.

One year on, the Squad is stronger than ever and has grown into a full worldwide fitness and well-being community.

There are currently six regular Rock it Instructors all teaching different styles – from Latin to Sculpt and Core to Pilates – plus Rho’s tailor made sessions – Soca Aerobics, Booty Burner, Waistline Workouts, Rock it Resistance, Stretch it . . . to name but a few!

As the Squad continues to grow,  Rock it with Rho is looking for more Fitness Instructors to join the Rock it with Rho team!

  • This is a virtual role for their online fitness and well-being Squad community.
  • Instructors must be confident in front of the camera and have a passion for bringing out the best in people.
  • Knowledge on suitable music/copyrights for online platforms would be ideal.
  • Great opportunity to work with a supportive team.

Fitness instructor for kids – London

BeLifted is looking for a fitness instructor for children in Primary school aged 6-11 years old for five days a week,  Monday – Friday from 12.30pm-1.30pm. The activities will be everything from skipping, to boxing and kids exercises.  They are looking for someone who can be on time, vibrant and enthusiastic.
