Currently if you have only attended short courses or CPD without a base qualification OR have achieved only dance participation grades (not teaching) then you aren’t covered by EMD UK Associate Membership package. Getting qualified enables you to earn more money, work at more venues and pay lower premiums for insurance.
Please note: EMD UK Pro Enhanced membership with insurance doesn’t currently cover the following activities: Aerial classes (all) e.g. aerial yoga and skills, Box Fit (contact) Boxing Coaching (ring work, punch bags etc), Bungee Fitness, Circus Skills, Physiotherapy, Sling Fit (babies in slings), Sports Training/Coaching (any sport), Pole Dancing, Cheer Leading (stunts), Acrobatics, Gymnastics, Cross Fit, Martial Arts (any), Trampolining and Parkour.
Please note: With regard to the activity of sports massage the Public Liability limit is reduced to £1m for any practitioners treating elite athletes.
Please also note: The insurance upgrade packages offered by EMD UK can only be sold in combination with, or alongside a valid membership package. If you purchase a PRO membership Package and you wish to upgrade this to include insurance, you may do so at any time, providing you continue to maintain and renew the PRO Membership Package for the period of your upgrade. This can be done at the time, or at the yearly renewal date online.
Baby Massage: Baby Massage is covered under a PT & Specialist membership, providing you hold the relevant qualifications requested at sign up. You must have completed a nationally accredited CPD course in this area and ensure knowledge is kept up to date. You must obtain parental consent when treating/working with minors and as with all activity, you are undertaking the appropriate risk assessment and risk management, and these are being recorded.
Floating Sound Bath: Floating Sound Bath is covered providing you have completed an accredited CPD course in this area and ensure knowledge is kept up to date. The floatation equipment must be appropriate for use on water, and it is only cover for classes held in swimming pools and not in open water environments. There must be a qualified lifeguard in attendance at all times, the teacher can also be the qualified lifeguard, but risk assess the ability to run the session and lifeguard at the same time as this may not be appropriate in some circumstances. The teacher/member is acting as a spotter and always watching those in attendance and not participating.
Pole Fitness: Pole Fitness is covered under a PT & Specialist membership, providing you hold the relevant qualifications requested at sign up. You must have the relevant pole fitness qualifications. The instructor is part of the International Pole Dance Fitness Association, Pole Dance community. As with all activity, it does not involve any use of alcohol and drugs. The classes are not to take place in the private residence of the instructor and/or client. The instruction is part of a fitness regime and would not include parties. The poles must be Pole Dance community recognised ‘safe poles’.

I agree to upload my details (including classes) onto the agreed owned websites and to communicate changes, additions and updates as required. I understand that by doing so, classes/events can be advertised online (via EMD UK websites, and other appropriate search engines).
To use or upload a photo, you need to be the legal owner or, have permission in writing from the legal owner. Breaking copyright law can result in being taken to court. EMD UK will not be liable for any fines levied for images uploaded by instructors. Any claims made against EMD UK where it is found copyright law has been infringed will be passed onto the individual who has posted the image. By uploading an image, you agree to be bound by these terms and indemnify EMD UK against any claims that may arise.
EMD UK holds the right to request evidence of listed qualifications/licences and may perform random quality checks on classes. By submitting my details, I agree to adhere to such requests made.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any membership account if we believe the account is being misused, these terms, or any other terms of membership or platform usage are breached, or for any other reasonable reason at our discretion.
We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue Community membership features at any time without prior notice.
Where a membership is purchased by an individual on behalf of another person (“the Member”), the purchaser confirms that:
The purchaser accepts full responsibility for ensuring the Member’s understanding and acceptance of these Terms. EMD UK shall not be liable for any dispute arising from a lack of authority or consent.
Where required, EMD UK reserves the right to request confirmation of consent directly from the Member.
