Dr Christina Hennessey joins EMD UK as a non-executive director
Following the announcement about the changes to our board of directors, we are running a short blog series to introduce all of our new non-executive directors to our EMD UK community.
In this one, we introduce Dr Christina Hennessey, a General Practitioner with over 30 years of NHS experience and eight years in the private healthcare sector.
Most recently, Christina served as Chief Medical Officer for Boots Digital Health, where she built the clinical team, governance framework, and clinical pathways from the ground up, supporting the safe and effective delivery of digital healthcare services.
Previously, as Clinical Director of a GP Federation in London, Christina led the development of robust governance structures that enabled hospital-based services to be successfully delivered within community settings, improving accessibility and patient care.
In her role with EMD UK, Christina brings extensive expertise in the health benefits of group exercise, clinical governance, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, and the challenges of managing sustainable growth while maintaining a strong focus on the wellbeing of both customers and staff.
“Having worked in healthcare for many years, I know that exercise, activity and positive social interactions have the biggest influences on our health. I want to use my healthcare experience in an organisation that promotes these important areas and can influence at a governmental level.”
Throughout her career in both the NHS and private sector, Dr Hennessey has remained committed to helping people stay healthy, empowering individuals to take an active role in their own health and wellbeing and promoting preventative approaches to healthcare.
