Aimée Henderson joins EMD UK as a non-executive director and chair of FAAC
Following the announcement about the changes to our board of directors, we are running a short blog series to introduce all of our new non-executive directors to our EMD UK community.
In this one, we introduce Aimée Henderson FCMA, CGMA, FCIPD, a senior executive, board adviser and governance leader with over 20 years’ experience across the health and wellbeing, education, charity, membership and regulated sectors.
Most recently, she completed six years as Chief Operating Officer of the Conservative Party, where she led significant governance reform, organisational transformation and operational modernisation within one of the UK’s most complex membership organisations. She is credited with exceptional financial stewardship through a period of significant change.
Previously, Aimée served as Deputy CEO, Group Finance Director and Company Secretary of Central YMCA, supporting organisational transformation and the development of education and workforce pathways within the health and wellbeing sector.
“I joined EMD UK because I have long believed in the power of group exercise to change lives. Having grown up around gyms, remained actively involved in competitive sport, and worked closely with YMCAfit and YMCA Awards, I’ve seen first-hand how physical activity can build confidence, improve health, strengthen communities and create a real sense of belonging. At a time when preventative health and social connection are more important than ever, EMD UK plays a vital role in championing the instructors and organisations that help people live healthier, more active lives, and I’m delighted to be part of that mission.”
Passionate about physical activity, preventative health and community wellbeing, she is also taking on the role of Chair of EMD UK’s Finance and Audit Committee (FAAC).
Please join us in welcoming Aimée to the EMD UK board, and keep an eye out for the other instalments in our series as we introduce more of our new non-executive directors, or read about all the appointments in our press release.
